Teacher Training:
Our goal is to make the Stream Side Science lesson plans and equipment available for use in all classes around the state. To assist the teachers, we provide workshops on how to use these lessons and equipment. Each Stream Side Science workshop includes a session on basic watershed structure and function and how to measure water quality parameters (Watershed 101), time in the field where educators learn monitoring techniques, and concludes with reflection and synthesis. Educators model lesson plans and discuss how these can be used in different classroom settings.
How Can you Benefit from Attending a Training Workshop?
- You can gain relicensure points
- You will get valuable hands-on experience outdoors
- You will learn watershed basics
